Centre for Research on Sustainable Agriculture, Cali, Colombia
Zoraida Calle is a biologist with an MSc in ecology. Since 1994 she has worked as a researcher at Fundación CIPAV, a Colombian organization that promotes sustainable agricultural production systems. Her scientific work, done mostly in collaboration with members of rural communities, has focused on plant ecology, restoration in agricultural landscapes, silvopastoral systems and agroecology. Zoraida has explored the synergies between restoration and agroecology as a scientist, practitioner, trainer and farmer. Currently, she combines her work at CIPAV with her duties as Colombia Coordinator for ELTI (Environmental Leadership Training Initiative), an international program of the School of Forestry and Environmental Studies of Yale University.
