Daniel is a visionary energy engineer and a pioneer in the field of renewable energy. While actively involved in the challenging sector of microfinance, he witnessed the great potential of combining microfinance with energy, which in turn also incentivized co-found and actively manage MicroEnergy International. With more than 15 years of experience in economics, energy engineering, strategic business development, technology design, clean energy technologies implementation and evaluation, Daniel conceived with his multidisciplinary team the concept of "Swarm Electrification". Swarm Electrification is a bottom-up community electrification approach, allowing for the incremental build-up of an electricity grid that allows for the sharing of energy. To implement this innovative approach, Daniel incubated the multi-awarded MicroEnergy International spin-off in Bangladesh, ME SOLshare Ltd., where he currently leads the board of directors.
